Mark’s Arthouse
I went to art school on the East Coast with a pencil and a love for sculpture, and spent time listening to professors drone on about the vector tool in Illustrator. One day, I woke up to realize that it wasn’t just a dream — I was, in fact: bored with art. There had to be more to design and creativity than plugging into a Macbook, right?
Drawing classes were tantilizing, sculpting was theraputic, I was watching New Girl in my dorm room, and every student around me was branding themselves a “creative director” or “design specialist.” They would tout the mantra of “let’s master one art skill and do just that for the next 60 years of our lives.” Even though I tried to fit into that mold, in the end I couldn’t subscribe to that.
So, despite how I have observed other people may do things, I venture onward. Bravely into that good night (Interstellar is a great movie).
All to say, this is my little corner of the art internet, where it’s okay to get bored. Where I can be myself and showcase my recent work (or some photos, shows, foods, world records) that I like.
Welcome, all. You are, in fact, welcome here.
